Hello Everyone,
The new Cut and Thrust rules have been signed and have gone into effect.
At the Society level the decision has been made for Kingdoms to keep the program small for the first year or so to make sure a strong base is built.
Our goal is to create a skilled, active, communicative base of Marshals and Fighters.
The current emphasis is more on getting people kitted up and getting practices started then on having Tournaments.
While on that subject I would like Marshals to post here as soon as they get practices started.
Also, for the meantime, any Tourneys need to be cleared through Ramon and/or myself.
For us that means there are two Authorizing Marshals:
Don Ramon Diaz de la Vega, KRM
Don Chrestien de Valois, KCTM
Authorizing Marshals are the only ones that may Authorize C&T Marshals and C&T Combatants.
The C&T Marshals may run practices, tournaments and recomend new fighters for Authorization.
They are:
- Don Ramon Diaz de la Vega, KRM
- Don Chrestien de Valois, KCTM
- Maestro Guidobaldo de Aquilla
- Don Gregorio Cristovalez de la Vega
- Don Alvarro Ferreiro de Goa
- Don Prospere de Montsegur
- Don Luciano Foscari
- Don Richard Thomas
- Sean O'Sirin
The current C&T Combatant List is:
- Don Ramon Diaz de la Vega, KRM
- Don Chrestien de Valois, KCTM
- Maestro Guidobaldo de Aquilla
- Don Gregorio Cristovalez de la Vega
- Don Alvarro Ferreiro de Goa
- Don Prospere de Montsegur
- Don Luciano Foscari
- Don Richard Thomas
- Sean O'Sirin
- Don Wolfgang von Bremen
- Dona Lasairiona
- Don Samuael McTavish
- Warwick Drakkar
- Callen Drakkar
- Christopher MacEveny

I was talking to the baron of Madrone, and he would be OK with a Cut&Thrust practice being held at the Madrone Socials. They are the third Thursday of the month at the Ballard Oddfellows hall.
So, in reading the rules, I note that the branch has to have an authorized C&T marshal, but do they need to be present for the practice or do we just need to posses one? If so, any one want to come to the Madrone Social an provide professional services? |

My understanding is that the Marshal requirements are the same as for any other martial discipline.
A properly warranted Marshal must be present for any activities to occur.
So, for any C&T practice to occur a C&T Marshal must be present.

| I talked to Richard tonight and I am going to see if I can twist his arm to show up the Madrone social night. I would like to see if we can start a C&T practice. If we have a marshal there for it, can we do it? |

Yes!
Just keep me apprised of what you are doing, participants, styles practiced, etc.
Be sure to go over the C&T armour requirements as well, some of the pieces may be a bit difficult to acquire.

Sure thing. Since we are a go, I will plan on doing it at the next Madrone Social.
Sebastien, we will start on the next Madrone Social. I'll get with the Baron and start setting it up. It wil be this month's social, the third Thursday. |

Alvarro - is it just the hand/finger protection that is the issue in finding appropriate gear?
Think of it this way - if after that first year "probationary" period we can show how there have been no accidents - we can always rewrite the armor requirements.  |

Is there a further update to the Authorized fighter list and Marshaling list. This was updated almost a year ago and I know there have been some additions.
