I have noticed of late that there is a considerable shortage in a timely blade supply of the higher end practice blades.  Angus Trim says he is at least two months out.  Last year ordering a sword from Darkwood I substituted a backsword blade for the sidesword blade I had ordered because my hilt was done but he was out of the proper blade, Now he is at Pennsic and took all his stock - presumably coming back sold out and needing to manufacture blades. We used to be able to order direct from DelTin 4 or 5 blades at a time, but they quite dealing with us - presumably we weren't big enough.

So..... If one were to start manufacturing blades themselves what is the most expediant way to get society approval of blades?

Talk to the SRM.

By the end of this year, odds are that there should be a fairly good supply of both bladetypes in stock "locally". In conversations that I have had with Gus recently, I know that his intent is to really start working on stockpiling stuff as much as he can....
