How did the various tourneys go?

The tournies went great.  I think I speak for most when I say much fun was had.  And in the auction tourney a grand total of $1000 was raised to go toward Baron Olaf's medical bills.
As for the hooking and jabbing, it was a grand time.  Between the three tournies, the bear pit, and the pickups, I got more fighting in at this event than I have had at some wars.  I tell you, if this is going to be the norm for Crown events I don't see myself missing another one.

I think it was pretty average for the amount of fighting available.

I had a pretty good time, found out that my boots don't work so well for period-esque footwork (the heels are too high, flat would be much better) and that I need to protect my sword side forearm better since I can't swap hands due to a lingering elbow problem.

Had a blast (even if I had to roll out of my bed and into armour).

Did anyone get any pictures?  I saw some guy with a serious looking camera...but I'm assuming he was local media.

I've gotta agree with Tora on this one, it was a great tourney, even with the rain and all.

I truly enjoyed myself, meeting old friends and making new ones. I was happy to be able to duel with so many people that I met at 12th Night this past year. So much great talent, I really had a blast.

On a personal interest note I was really delighted to have been asked to the White Scarf Invitational, thank you again Don William Bennett, was truly an honour.

So I guess my next big big event is Clinton, can't wait for the Roving Rapier again, hehehehehehe

Anyhow I hope to cross blades with many of you before then.

Greetings,

Glad to hear from a bunch of you. I had a most excellent May Crown Event. I achieved all my goals for this event, and by past my own expectations of what I could accomplish.

The Open Field Tourney on Saturday was a rainy affair but it did nothing to quell the spirit of those that made the journey and fought on the first day. Based on announced results that I myself confirmed for the fighting that day for Best Winning Percentage:
1st - QRC Tora Taka (correct me here Tora 96-98%)
2nd - Richard Touchet Cadet to Don Indigo (80%)
3rd - Draven Mac Raith Cadet to Mon Prospere de Montsegur (79%)
4th - Molly Modine student to Mon Prospere de Montsegur (78%)
Note: 2nd to 3rd are Tir Righ fighters

The White Scarf Invitational had a number of fighters, lets see of the top of my head: Sean (forget the lastname), Tora Taka, myself, Kallyn Rosvardo, Molly Modine, Tangywn, Richard Touchet, Mughain, Richard Thomas and that's all I remember (there's more I'm sure, fill in the blanks guys). The final came down to Tora and Sean in a best 2 outta 3 and Tora took it in 2 if I'm correct.

The next day which was the Sunday, we fought in the Tournament of the Sable Rose. My Uncle Herr Lyall was the auctioneer as fighters were auctioned off to raise money for Baron Olaf. The highest bid went to Tora Taka for $175 US, I think I got the lowest *smiles*. It was a double elimination tournament in two fields. After a grueling tournament me and Tora were the only two left. Tora took the first kill, I took the second and he took the third. The rumors are true, man is this guy fricking fast! I can attest to that. For my efforts and honouring my inspiration: Rebecca de la Marre, I was given Chivalry prize for the tournament (yes it went to her).

I hope to be able to make July Coronation in which I'll see a bunch of you guys and gals. It was great seeing you all again.

I'd like to say I also had a blast. I enjoyed all the nice clean fights I had on both days. Thanks to all of you who crossed blades with me.

Thanks to Amber, Ramon and Lyle for running these tournaments. And please pass on a big thanks to the ladies running the lists.

Amazing, an event where I fought in the rain and didn't get hurt. However it took 4 days for the padding in my helm to dry out.

Although I would much rather have been out there fighting with all of you, I have to say that you all made running the lists a pleasure.  NOT ONE FIGHTER gave us a hard time about presenting his or her fight card, EVERYONE was pleasant and cheery in spite of the weather, and EVERYONE was incredibly patient during those mad rushes when it seemed like the entire field emptied and all of the fighters were reporting at once.
