| I know there has been some discussion of holding classes at large events, and there was one held at September Crown that I quite enjoyed. I would like to suggest a topic for a class: how to study period manuals for yourself. We have so many fighters without consistent access to teachers who can explain the manuals, but there's no reason they can't teach themselves if they have some basic knowledge about how to interpret what they read and see. I'm not sure how popular the class would be, but it seems worth a shot if it will help disseminate knowledge of the manuals. |

Not a bad idea.
One of the things that needs to happen to get classes offered at Crown events, is pre-planning. As an example, I feel that it is already too late at this point to star tplanning for such at July Coronation.
Don Gregorio and I were talking about a related concept this past weekend at May Crown. The two of us are very interested in keeping the Historical Combat A&S community and the Rapier community closely tied together and cooperative. Not like this would not happen anyways, but that should not stop us from making this more explicit.
Basically, I think that classes like Morleigh has brought up could be best run through the Historical Combat A&S side...and any hands on classes applicable for Rapier would run through that side/ruleset. ;)
Anyways, I will follow up with Gregorio and Talentus about July coronation, and update this forum. |
