The Shire of Cold Keep is hosting its St. David's Day event on March 11.
As part of St. David's Day celebrations, the Welsh celebrate their
culture. This event is rather like the holiday it is named after, but
is a celebration of SCA culture. (In other words, you neither need to
be Welsh nor need to know anything about St. David in order to
participate. In this spirit, we are looking for instructors interested
in sharing their knowledge of the SCA and medieval life. Heavy and
rapier fighting, archery, and arts and sciences are all welcome to
attend and instruct. Please contact the autocrat if you are interested
in either teaching or learning.

Connaught Youth Centre
1491 17th Avenue
Prince George, BC V2L 3Z2

The site is at the intersection of Victoria Street (Trans-Canada 16) and
17th Avenue. Parking is accessible from 17th Avenue. Drive around to
the rear of the building.

From the east: Drive into Prince George using Route 16. Turn left
onto Victoria Street. Shortly after Save-On-Foods, the site will be on
your left. From the west: Drive into Prince George using Route 16.
Turn left onto Victoria Street. The site will be on your right. From
the north or south, drive to Prince George using Route 97. Once there,
turn east onto Route 16 and follow the directions as if "from the west".
SCA signs will be posted.

The site opens at 10am and closes at 11pm. Site fee is $5. For
Non-Members, the standard additional $4 will be charged. Make cheques
payable to the Shire of Cold Keep. Additional nominal fees may be
charged for classes.

For those of us more rapier-minded, Dons Prospere and Alverro will be teaching various rapier-related things on Saturday, and there'll probably be a tournement of sorts afterwards.  I'll post more details as soon as they exist.

I'm sorry, I'm not going to be able to make it up to this event. My vehicle is simply not capable of long road-trips at this point... even 4W is gonna be tricky. Dammit.

It's too bad don Alvarro, I know that what you teach would have been highly beneficial to the folk in Cold Keep (and those travelling there).

I myself am missing the event because Appledore has an event on the same day, The Feast of Fellowship.

Hope to cross blades with you once more, as I learn something new every time.
