I though I would post this since I know from talking to a few of you out there, that there's some crossover interest in soldier activities. I've been to a few events and they're great fun, and I'll be going to this one. Gordon (the guy running it) will be at September crown, so if you have any interest or questions you can talk to me or I can introduce you to Gordon.
Thanks,
Sean O'Conner

Greetings:
Just as a reminder for those who may not have heard, we're planning on
holding the School of the Renaissance Soldier: North Country Muster on the
first weekend of October (3rd, 4th & 5th). For those with a passing
interest in attending, please check out our website:
http://renaissancesoldier.com/ and go to North Country Muster.
This is a three-day, full immersion event focusing on the life of soldiers
and camp followers from the "Age of the Pike", roughly 1500 to 1650.
Complete clothing of that period is required. We will include venues for
Pikemen, Arquebusiers/Musketeers, and several types of Horse (Demi-Lancers
in 3/4 armour, Harquebusiers and Border Lances in little to no armour).
There will be a period camp where most of the activities will occur, and a
modern camp out of sight for those who don't yet have period canvas.
The cost is $50 per participant for the weekend if pre-paid, $60 on site.
There are however a select number of "scholarships" available for those who are in need, and can trade work for tuition.
For a glimpse of the sorts of activities we engage in, check out this
Youtube video of last April's event in Sacramento:

Cheers!
