My mask is very overdue to be replaced. Where are good places to look? How much are people charging for those fancy contraptions the locals are making with the mesh mask and the helmet that closes around it?

I'd recommend Zen Warrior Armory (formerly Triplette). Their website is http://zenwarriorarmory.com/. Personally I've got the 2001 FIE Mask.
