Hello,

I have a copy of the recent English translation of the Joachim Meyer fightbook (translated by Dr. Jeffery L. Forgeng).  For those who do not know, it was written in 1570, and covers long sword, dusack, rapier, dagger, wrestling, quarterstaff, halberd, and pike.  It has some interesting information in it.

Unfortunately, I needed to go through Greenhill Books directly for my copies.  Here is the information:

"The Art of Combat: A German Martial Arts Treatise of 1570"
ISBN 1-4039-7092-0 (US Hardback Edition)

The publisher's web site can be found here:
http://fm.greenhillbooks.com/greenhill/index.htm

I hope this helps those who are interested!

Howdy,

Just got my copy Wednesday, or Thursday.  It's a beaut alright.  Well worth the unfavorable exchange rate to get.

So is this a different book from this one, which I gave as a Christmas present?

I understand the arguments against buying from Amazon vs a smaller bookseller, but is there another reason to have it shipped from the UK?

Greetings,

No, this is most likely the same book. It is just really hard to find it. And I believe the publishers are also out of England.
